Little Ass Burrito Bar – New Location Rathmines*

Wednesday evening was a very special occasion as Little Ass Burrito Bar opened it’s second location in Rathmines.
Few of you might know, Little Ass actually started in Rathmines back in 2011, before moving to Dawson St in June 2012, just across the road from where the new location is now.

Little Ass Burrito Bar, for those of you who don’t know is a burrito bar with a strong emphasis on ethically and locally sourcing their produce which is reflected in their menu.
They make use of great Irish products like Gubbeen chorizo and 3FE coffee
Mural done by Dublin based Mexican artist Kathrina Rupit
They also support local causes (check out #simonsaysburritos) and artists which they’ve certainly celebrated in the new restaurant. There’s also a lot more capacity (I think around 25 seats?) than it’s sister on Dawson St but it’s still in-keeping with the street food ethos and community feel.

Little Ass takes the hassle out of putting your order together as they’ve already paired up some great ingredients – including two veggie burritos which is what keeps me happy – choice!
There’s a range of 5 salsas ranging from very mild to habanero hot, the staff are on hand to help you make the right choice. There’s 7 burritos to choose from and the Paleo Box (€7.80) if you’re that way inclined.

Both D and I got Super Batatas, him with Habanero salsa and me with Zesty – and my did they have a kick that day! I struggled to finish mine but it kept me full for the evening and D wasn’t complaining of hunger either after he wolfed his down.

There’s also homemade lemonade and horchata (a Mexican thirst quencher) on offer for €2 alongside the normal fare of soft drinks and coffee. There’s also a range of extras and sides including Super Nachos which just make me full by the sound of them!

Judging by the reactions people are very happy to have Little Ass back in Rathmines, I see why. The hustle and bustle of Rathmines is the perfect place for this fresh and vibrant restaurant. I can see it doing very well here and will definitely pop back in when in the area!
